A TikTok video capturing a Vallejo police officer punching a woman is gaining traction online. The 50-second video, which has nearly half a million views, showcases the conclusion of a police chase following a burglary in Vallejo.

According to the Vallejo Police Department (VPD), a business near Gateway Plaza Shopping Center was burglarized on Friday. This led to a pursuit in which the suspect drove recklessly and eventually crashed into a truck near Auto Mall Parkway and Admiral Callaghan Lane.

Authorities stated that the woman resisted arrest and attempted to escape from the police. Around the 10-second mark of the video, the officer is seen forcefully slamming the woman against the truck. Shortly after, he proceeds to punch her at least once.

Both the woman and the officer sustained injuries during the incident. The suspect was injured as a result of the car crash, while the officer was injured in his attempt to apprehend the woman.

As of now, the woman is in police custody. The TikTok video has garnered over 467,000 views, 49,000 likes, and 2,400 comments since it was posted on Friday afternoon.

The Vallejo Police Department has stated that the incident will be reviewed in accordance with their use of force policy. No further information has been provided at this time.

In a recent incident in Sun Valley, a Los Angeles Police Officer was injured and a fire hydrant was sheared after a driver led officers on a brief pursuit.
