With this information in hand, authorities began their search. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deployed a sheriff’s bloodhound to aid in the investigation. The bloodhound played a vital role in locating evidence dropped on the ground by Banks during his escape. Using the evidence collected and undisclosed investigative resources, authorities were able to positively identify Banks as the suspect.
