Following the initial collision, the Yukon then collided with a Chevrolet Silverado before continuing north, ultimately striking a tree and rolling over. According to the California Highway Patrol, Officer Dave LaRock, the vehicle subsequently caught fire. Thankfully, a heroic passerby pulled Sanchez from the vehicle, but sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. A passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital after experiencing pain, while the passerby remained unharmed. The bicyclist involved in the collision was airlifted to a hospital and is currently in stable condition. Fortunately, nobody in the Silverado sustained injuries. As of Wednesday, the California Highway Patrol’s investigation into the collision was still ongoing. The details surrounding the incident and the factors that led to this tragic loss of life are yet to be determined. The school was not placed under lockdown as the student with the knife had already left the campus.
