Teen Driver Arrested for DUI, Assaulting Officers in San Mateo

In a recent incident reported by the San Mateo Police Department, a 17-year-old was arrested for driving under the influence, crashing his car into a street sign, and assaulting police officers.

The young driver, who had a blood alcohol content three times the legal limit, crashed into a Central Park sign. Following the arrival of the responding officers, the teen struck one officer and tried to bite another, according to the police report.

Pictures released by the San Mateo Police Department show the officers at the scene of the crash and the damage inflicted on the car.

Despite the altercation, no injuries were reported among the officers or the driver. The incident underscores the dangers of drunk driving and the importance of educating young drivers about the consequences of such reckless behavior.
