An unfortunate incident occurred Friday afternoon at Stanford Station in Palo Alto when an individual was struck by a southbound Caltrain. According to public transit officials, the individual who was hit was a “trespasser.”
As of 6 p.m., train service in the area has been put on hold. The train involved in the accident was reported to have approximately 150 passengers on board at the time of the incident. However, no other injuries were reported.
This incident marks the fifth Caltrain-related fatality of 2023. The identity of the victim has not yet been revealed.
