A semi-truck collided with a metal pipe on the 134 Freeway on Monday morning, resulting in a fuel spill and large debris on the roadway. The incident happened on the eastbound span of the freeway at the interchange with the 2 Freeway near Eagle Rock.
The force of the collision ruptured the truck’s fuel tank, leading to a fuel spill on the freeway. A SigAlert was issued following the incident, and CalTrans workers were seen clearing the debris early Friday morning.
The crash caused a minor traffic jam on the westbound side of the 134. To avoid the traffic, road users on the eastbound side of the 134 Freeway were advised to exit before reaching Harvey Drive, then head south to Colorado. All lanes of the eastbound span of the 134 Freeway remained closed until 5:30 a.m.
