A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Caltrain on Saturday morning in Santa Clara, according to a spokesperson for Caltrain.
The incident occurred just before 11 a.m., when southbound train #630 hit and killed an individual just north of the Santa Clara Caltrain station. There were twelve passengers on the train at the time, but no other injuries were reported.
Train service in the area is currently halted, and emergency personnel are on the scene. This incident is the sixth Caltrain fatality this year.
