Human Remains Found in Suitcases in Florida Waterway

Delray Beach, Florida police are investigating a gruesome discovery made on Friday. The remains of a woman were found in three suitcases floating in the Intracoastal Waterway, north of Boca Raton.

Local outlet WPTV reported that police were alerted to a strange item floating in the waterway. Upon investigation, they found three suitcases, all containing human remains.

Authorities believe the remains belong to a single woman, who has yet to be identified. The remains have been sent to a medical examiner for identification.

Delray Police have provided a description of the woman, describing her as possibly white or Hispanic with brown hair. She is estimated to be middle-aged, around 5’4″ tall, and might have tattooed eyebrows. At the time of discovery, she was wearing a floral tank top, a black undershirt, and black mid-thigh shorts.

This case follows a similar incident in Texas, where a day earlier, human remains were found in a piece of luggage on a ranch. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar noted that the body was barely concealed, aside from being inside a suitcase.

While the cause and manner of death, as well as the identity of the remains, are yet to be determined, authorities are treating it as a homicide. The investigation is ongoing.
