A multi-vehicle crash in the San Fernando Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles County resulted in at least six people, including one child, being sent to the hospital. The crash, which occurred on the 12700 block of West Vanowen Street near Bellaire Avenue in Valley Glen around 7 p.m., is suspected to have possibly involved a stolen vehicle.
Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) medical personnel who responded to the scene found a five-vehicle collision. The victims, five adults and one child, were all transported to the hospital in fair condition.
Aerial footage from the scene showed a significant presence of firefighters and police officers. Two of the vehicles involved in the collision showed heavy damage.
At the same time, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were in pursuit of a suspected stolen vehicle, described as a 2022 metallic gray Lincoln Corsair, in the 14400 block of Oxnard Street, roughly three miles away from the crash site. The suspect, described as a Hispanic male wearing a black shirt, attempted to flee police on foot but was eventually captured near Vanowen Street and Bellaire Avenue.
As of now, it is unclear whether the stolen vehicle suspect was involved in the multi-vehicle crash.
