Santa Rosa Resident Arrested After DUI-Related Hit-and-Run

A hit-and-run incident overnight Sunday resulted in the arrest of a suspect on suspicion of DUI, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department. An officer was alerted to the crash near Railroad Street and Third Street by the victim driver.

Following a search for the suspect’s vehicle, police located it in a parking lot near Fifth Street and Wilson Street. The driver displayed signs of alcohol intoxication, according to the police.

The driver, identified as 34-year-old Santa Rosa resident Alfredo Gonzalez-Gutierrez, was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail. He faces two felony charges, DUI causing injury and hit-and-run with injury, as announced by the authorities.

Gonzalez-Gutierrez’s bail has been set at $200,000. It was not revealed whether the suspect sustained any injuries from the incident.

The victim, on the other hand, was taken to the hospital with significant injuries. Despite the severity of the injuries, the victim is expected to recover.
