In an effort to solve a pending case, the coroner’s division of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department is seeking assistance from the public to identify a woman who was found deceased in Irvine earlier this year.
The woman, referred to as Jane Doe in an OCSD news release, was discovered dead on the sidewalk near Mark Dailey Athletic Field located at 308 East Yale Loop just before 5 p.m. on May 26.
According to the release, the woman is estimated to be between the ages of 45 and 60 and appears to be of Hispanic or Asian descent. She is 5 foot 8 inches tall, weighs 124 pounds, and has black medium-length curly hair, brown eyes, and natural teeth. No significant scars, marks, or tattoos were noticed on her body.
A forensic rendering of the unidentified woman has been released by the O.C. Sheriff’s Department in hopes of aiding the identification process.
It has also been suggested that the woman may have been homeless at the time of her death. However, her cause of death is still being determined.
Anyone with information that could help identify the woman is encouraged to contact the OCSD’s coroner division at 714-647-7400, referencing case number 23-03133-BK.
This case raises awareness about the often overlooked homeless population and the difficulties they face, including the lack of a support system that can help identify them in unfortunate circumstances such as this.
