Pomona Fairplex Morphs into ‘Fearplex’ for Halloween

The Pomona Fairplex, a popular event venue, is set to undergo a spine-chilling transformation this fall as it hosts ‘Fearplex Presents LIGHTS OUT’, an all-new interactive Halloween event.

The Fairplex, traditionally home to the Los Angeles County Fair, will welcome guests on weekends throughout October to experience its ghoulish metamorphosis. The venue promises a ‘gory carnival of carnage’ with terrifying mazes and graveyards, where the brave can test their courage.

Walter Marquez, the President and CEO of Fairplex, expressed his excitement for the event, which will utilize the venue’s century-old grounds to create an immersive Halloween experience.

Among the attractions, LIGHTS OUT features a zombie-themed maze, a carnival maze populated by clowns and ‘circus freaks’, and a black-light experience designed to send shivers down your spine. Guests can also explore an interactive wax museum, traverse a graveyard, or relive notorious horror video games in a dedicated gaming area.

For those desiring a less intense experience, the event will offer themed food, vendors and other attractions.

The haunts will commence from October 6, extending on weekends and on additional days leading up to Halloween. Tickets are on sale, with prices ranging from $27 to $33.

Marquez highlighted the event as an opportunity for the venue to tap into the multi-million-dollar haunted house industry, while providing the local community with a novel experience at the well-known complex.

“We have a built-in infrastructure that can support an eerie narrative. Plus, I think people are always looking for new experiences to try,” Marquez said. For more information, visitors are directed to the event’s webpage.
