Nima Momeni is due to return to court for the second day of his preliminary hearing in San Francisco on Tuesday. The primary objective will be to determine if the evidence presented against Momeni is sufficient to proceed to trial.
Yesterday, the court heard testimonies from the first officers to respond to the fatal stabbing of Cash App founder, Bob Lee, which took place on April 4. The officers arrived at the scene on Main Street shortly after 2:30 a.m. to find Lee suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The suspected murder weapon, a knife, was subsequently discovered on the floor of a nearby CalTrans parking lot. During the proceedings, Momeni’s defense team took the opportunity to point out that there was another individual at the crime scene when police arrived. However, this person was not taken in for questioning.
Following the hearing, defense attorneys raised allegations outside the courtroom stating that “some people weren’t interviewed” and that no fingerprints were taken from the knife handle.
As the preliminary hearing continues, it serves as a reminder of the importance of thorough investigations and comprehensive review of all available evidence in such serious criminal cases. Stay tuned for live updates from the courtroom as this story develops.
