New Payment Plan Programs for Overdue Bridge Toll Violations

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission has announced new programs to assist individuals with overdue payments from toll violations on Bay Area bridges. Bay Area FasTrak now offers payment plan programs specifically designed to help low-income residents who have received toll violations on bridges or express lanes.

Qualifying individuals can have their violation penalties waived and settle any remaining balance of at least $100 through a payment plan, as per an MTC press release. Moreover, the Bay Area Toll Authority now provides one-time full or partial penalty waivers accessible to everyone, regardless of income level, effective through September 2024.

These programs are not restricted to Bay Area residents but are available to anyone with penalties or fees related to toll violations. Interested persons can apply to the programs by mailing a paper application to the MTC at P.O. Box 316, Concord, 94522, sending a fax to (844) 554-6084 or applying on their website.

Initiatives like these play a significant role in supporting community members struggling with financial difficulties. They ensure that even those with limited financial resources can resolve their obligations without undue hardship, fostering a more understanding and supportive system for all road users.
