San Mateo Road Rage Incident Leads to Arrest

In a recent road rage incident in San Mateo, a suspect who allegedly brandished a knife and struck a victim with his vehicle has been arrested. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 30, as reported to the San Mateo Police Department by a father and daughter.

According to the father, he was the victim of an assault with a deadly weapon. He was alerted to the situation by his daughter, who noticed a black car following her and promptly called her father. The father then drove to the location where he observed the black car still tailing his daughter.

When the vehicles stopped at a red light at East Hillsdale Boulevard and Curtis Street, the father got out of his car to confront the driver of the black car. It was at this juncture that the driver displayed a knife and deliberately drove his car into the father, causing him to roll over the hood.

Following an investigation, police identified the driver of the black car as Thomas German. German was later found inside his car parked near the intersection of Lodi Avenue and Norton Street. He was arrested without incident, and the knife used during the crime was recovered.

German has since been booked into San Mateo County Jail. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers of escalating conflicts on the road and highlights the importance of maintaining calm during driving disputes.
