House Fire in Daly City Displaces Six Residents

A residential fire in Daly City on Tuesday night has displaced six residents, according to the North County Fire Authority. The fire, which started at around 8:35 p.m. at 162 Ardendale Drive, saw firefighters arrive on the scene to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the first floor of a two-story, single-family home.

No occupants were inside the house when firefighters entered the residence and initiated search and rescue operations. Firefighters remained on scene for over two hours, checking for fire extension and completing salvage and overhaul operations.

There were no reported injuries from the fire. The residents displaced by the incident were able to make their own housing arrangements. The fire authority determined the cause of the fire to be accidental.

Investigators couldn’t rule out the use of candles within the bedroom where the fire started. Fire officials noted that a working smoke alarm was not present in the bedroom where the fire originated. This incident underscores the importance of having functional smoke alarms in all rooms and the need for adherence to fire safety practices in homes.
