Electric Vehicles Destroyed in La Habra Fire

An incident in La Habra early Tuesday morning resulted in the destruction of two electric vehicles by fire. The vehicles were parked outside a home on the 2500 block of Greenbrier Lane when the fire broke out just before 2:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, first responders found the two vehicles fully consumed by flames. However, thanks to the swift action of firefighters, the fire was prevented from spreading to the garage or home, and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters told the police that there were no apparent signs of criminal activity or arson. A neighbor confirmed that both vehicles were electric, including a pickup truck that was among the vehicles destroyed. Video footage from the scene indicated that one of the vehicles may have been plugged in for charging at the time of the fire.

The investigation is ongoing, and the official cause of the fire has not been announced.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safety precautions when dealing with electric vehicles, particularly during charging. As electric vehicles become more prevalent, it’s crucial for car owners and manufacturers alike to be aware of and mitigate any potential fire risks.
