A tragic incident unfolded at an Oakland park on Tuesday afternoon when a man was found dead from a gunshot wound. The East Bay Regional Parks District (EBRPD) confirmed the incident.
EBRPD officers were called to the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline boat launch at 2:19 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a male victim dead from a gunshot wound.

In a separate incident on the same day, another fatal shooting occurred outside the Lake Merritt BART station in Oakland. A suspect was taken into custody less than 90 minutes after the incident.
