Rohnert Park Standoff Incident

Woman Arrested Following Standoff with Rohnert Park Police

A woman was apprehended Monday afternoon in Rohnert Park, California, after reportedly being spotted with a likely firearm and knives behind a grocery store, according to local police.

The incident was reported just before 2 p.m., with a person armed with a gun and knives spotted behind a FoodMaxx store on Rohnert Parkway. Officers arrived at the scene to find a woman, identified as Danielle Lormer, holding what appeared to be a handgun and knives.

Ignoring officer commands, Lormer reportedly walked towards the Copeland Creek ravine. After unsuccessful de-escalation attempts over two hours, she was finally hit with two 40mm sponge rounds and taken into custody.

Upon arrest, the 41-year-old was found in possession of a BB gun and two knives. Lormer, along with an officer who suffered a dog bite injury from a police canine during the incident, were both treated at local hospitals and released.

Lormer, a Rohnert Park resident, was taken to the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility and charged with violation of probation, carrying a concealed dirk or dagger, and obstructing a peace officer.

The incident underscores the complexities law enforcement face in managing potentially high-risk situations, and the role of de-escalation tactics in safely resolving these incidents. Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the incident and encourages anyone with information on the case to contact them at 707-584-2600, referencing Case #23-2912.
