A two-alarm fire occurred early Wednesday morning in a two-story commercial building in the 500 block of Fourth Street, Santa Rosa, causing considerable damage to two restaurants housed within. According to the Santa Rosa Fire Department (SRFD), water was seen coming from both stories of the building, which accommodated various businesses.
Firefighters discovered a fire inside the Thai House Restaurant, which was somewhat contained thanks to an activated fire sprinkler. The fire was eventually brought under control and there were no occupants found in the restaurant.
The restaurant on the lower level, Belly Left Coast Kitchen Tap, suffered significant water damage as water from the fire-fighting efforts at the Thai restaurant poured down into it. Crews worked to remove water from both floors of the building.
Damage estimates are around $150,000, according to SRFD. Both the Thai House Restaurant and Belly Left Coast Kitchen Tap Room will be closed for an unspecified period due to the water and fire damage.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, though initial findings suggest it was accidental. No injuries were reported in the incident.
