LA Sports Teams Helping Hawaii

LA Sports Teams Donate to Hawaii Wildfire Victims

Several sports teams from Los Angeles and Orange County, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Anaheim Ducks, and L.A. Dodgers, have made a joint donation of $450,000 to support those affected by the Hawaii wildfires.

The other contributing teams include the Anaheim Angels, Angel City Football Club, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, L.A. Galaxy, LAFC, L.A. Kings, and Los Angeles Sparks.

Prominent celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Jason Momoa, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson have also pitched in to help those impacted by the wildfires.

The Maui wildfire, which rapidly spread across the island, destroyed at least one historic town and claimed the lives of at least 110 people. Many residents are still unaccounted for, and others are grappling with power outages and unreliable cellphone service.

Hawaii’s Red Cross encourages individuals searching for missing family members or friends to call 1-800-Red-Cross (1-800-733-2767) and select option 4 for assistance. The organization’s website also provides tips on connecting with loved ones affected by the fire.

The public can also contribute to various charities aiming to assist the wildfire victims.
