Lake Closed Sign

Lake Anza Closed Due to Excessive Weed Growth

Lake Anza, located at Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley, has been closed for swimming due to an overgrowth of weeds, according to parks and recreation officials.

The closure, which commenced on Thursday, aims to prevent swimmers from getting tangled in the weeds and impeding their visibility in the water.

In addition to the closure, signs have been put up warning the public of the presence of blue-green algae in the lake. The reopening date of the lake to swimmers is currently unknown.
