A grim discovery was made in East Oakland on Saturday night as a person was found dead inside a car near East Oakland Pride Elementary School, according to the Oakland Police Department (OPD).
At around 8:15 p.m., the OPD received a report of an unresponsive individual in a car on the 7900 block of Plymouth Street. Upon arrival, officers found a victim with at least one gunshot wound.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. While the victim’s identity is currently being withheld until the next of kin has been notified, the OPD is actively investigating the incident.
