Daly City House Fire Reveals Illegal Cannabis Operation

Firefighters in Daly City successfully put out a house fire early Sunday, only to uncover an illegal cannabis cultivation operation within the property. The North County Fire Authority has reported that the home contained unpermitted electrical wiring and lighting fixture installations.

Responding to reports of a structure fire at 529 Gellert Blvd at 2:36 a.m., firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and fire emanating from the roof of the two-story home. No injuries were reported, and no occupants were found inside the home during the search and rescue operation.

While firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures using hose lines, the blaze caused significant damage to the second story of the home. The Daly City Police Department has announced that it will investigate the cannabis cultivation operation found within the property.
