The San Jose Police Department is investigating a family dispute, resulting in the father’s death, as a potential homicide. Officers responded to reports of a family disturbance on Saturday, Aug. 26, around 8:27 p.m., in the vicinity of Donnington Drive and Lockhaven Way.
Upon arrival, the police found the father in an unresponsive state. He was immediately transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Another man who remained at the scene was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Jail. The police have yet to reveal his relationship to the deceased but have confirmed that he will be identified in the coming days.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office once it has been confirmed and the next of kin has been notified.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under continued investigation. This incident marks the 25th homicide in San Jose in 2023, underscoring the community’s pressing need to address violence and conflict resolution.
