San Jose Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested, Weapons Seized
In a recent announcement, the San Jose Police Department revealed that two suspects have been arrested for armed robbery, and a significant cache of weapons has been seized. Eddie Robinson, 39, and Christy Rivera, 47, both residents of San Jose, were identified as the suspects involved in a purse snatch robbery that occurred last summer.
The incident took place on June 29 in the 5000 block of Makati Circle, where a man later identified as Robinson stole a purse from a woman, causing non-life-threatening injuries. During the robbery, a witness confronted Robinson, who then brandished a firearm. The San Jose Police Department responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.
After an initial investigation by patrol units, the case was transferred to the SJPD Robbery Unit. Through a follow-up investigation, Robinson and Rivera were identified as the primary suspects. The duo was also linked to a series of robberies in San Jose, according to the police.
Arrest warrants were obtained for both individuals, along with search warrants for their residences. Robinson was arrested on unrelated charges on October 3 and is currently in custody at Santa Clara County Main Jail.
On Wednesday, officers from the SJPD Covert Response Unit located Rivera and took her into custody without incident. Following the arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at her residence. During the search, law enforcement discovered a collection of weapons that included a short-barreled rifle, two handguns converted to fully automatic, firearm parts, ammunition, and high-capacity magazines.
Rivera was booked into Santa Clara County jail on charges of robbery and conspiracy. The police have stated that additional charges will be filed against Robinson while he remains in custody.
The swift action taken by the San Jose Police Department in apprehending these suspects demonstrates their commitment to maintaining public safety and bringing those responsible for criminal activities to justice. The seizure of a cache of weapons highlights the potential danger that could have been posed by these individuals.
It is crucial to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local law enforcement. By working together with the community, we can continue to create a safe environment for all residents of San Jose.
