Former UC Berkeley Basketball Player Suffers Brutal Attack in Poland
Mikayla Cowling, a former UC Berkeley basketball player who now plays for VBW Arka Gdynia in Poland, was the victim of a violent assault in a music club in Gdansk. The attack left Cowling with a head injury, including a fractured eye socket. The incident occurred after a EuroCup women’s match where her team emerged victorious. The attacker, identified as a security guard, was later detained by the police. The president of the Gdynia club expressed outrage at the situation and emphasized the need to oppose violence and aggression. We, as personal injury bloggers, condemn such acts of violence and wish Cowling a speedy recovery.
