Remembering the Lives Lost in the Tragic Pepperdine Crash: Honoring Their Hope and Legacy
In a somber gathering filled with prayer, song, and personal memories, Pepperdine University bid farewell to four students who tragically lost their lives in a devastating crash. The memorial service, held on campus, was attended by the families of Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams, as well as their sorority sisters and members of the wider campus community.

She knew what she wanted and always executed it so perfectly.”

She loved like there was no tomorrow, all in, 100%, always,” Vinita Weir shared, highlighting the impact Asha had on those around her.
The tragic incident occurred when a speeding BMW driven by a 22-year-old man collided with parked vehicles on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, approximately four miles east of Pepperdine’s campus. The parked cars struck the four seniors as they were standing along the side of the road, resulting in their untimely deaths.
Fraser Michael Bohm of Malibu, the driver of the BMW, was initially booked on charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. However, he was released the following day pending further investigation. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
In a poignant gesture, Pepperdine University has announced that all four victims will receive posthumous degrees. This acknowledgment of their academic achievements and potential serves as a tribute to their dedication and commitment to their education.
