Suspected Donut Store Robber Apprehended in Santa Rosa In a successful operation, the Santa Rosa Police have arrested a 31-year-old man believed to be responsible for a recent robbery at a local donut store. Dawit Ekube, a Santa Rosa resident, was taken into custody during a traffic enforcement stop on Thursday, just before 1 p.m. The arrest came shortly after the robbery at Andy’s Donuts & Bagels on Piner Road earlier in the week. Following Ekube’s arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Mikayla Drive. During the search, evidence related to the donut store robbery was discovered, strengthening the case against Ekube. He was subsequently transported to Sonoma County Jail and booked on suspicion of robbery. The incident at Andy’s Donuts occurred on Tuesday at approximately 2:40 p.m. The suspect, a male, entered the store and demanded money from the clerk while attempting to physically confront them.
