Tragedy Strikes: Scooter Rider Fatally Struck by Cars in East Hollywood
In a heartbreaking incident that occurred early Sunday morning, a scooter rider lost their life after being hit by two different cars in East Hollywood. The Los Angeles Police Department is now seeking the public’s assistance in locating the driver responsible for the initial collision.
According to reports, the incident took place a few minutes before 2:30 a.m. when the victim, riding a Lime scooter, was crossing Western Avenue north of Sierra Vista Avenue. It was at this moment that a black sedan, described by authorities, struck the rider, causing them to be ejected from the scooter and land on the roadway. Tragically, the victim’s misfortune did not end there, as they were then struck by a silver Lexus while lying helpless on the ground.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and the Lexus driver, who remained at the site, promptly reported the incident to the authorities. The injured rider was transported to a nearby hospital, but despite medical intervention, they ultimately succumbed to their injuries.
The driver of the black sedan, believed to be a Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible manufactured between 2001 and 2005, fled the scene by heading north on Western Avenue.
