The incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the 1500 block of Arlington Avenue when a young couple attempted to cross the street outside of a designated crosswalk.
According to Sgt. Greg Whorton of the Los Angeles Police Department, a speeding car heading southbound struck the couple, causing significant harm.
