In a tragic accident on Wednesday evening in Vallejo, a 2-year-old girl was fatally struck by a car.
The incident occurred around 4:51 p.m., when a 25-year-old woman was reversing her Dodge Charger out of her driveway. According to police, the woman felt she hit something and, upon getting out to check, discovered she had struck the 2-year-old girl.
The girl was swiftly transported to a local hospital, unfortunately succumbing to her injuries. The driver, a family friend of the child, remained at the scene to assist with the investigation.
Authorities have stated that neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
