A jet carrying six people crashed near French Valley Airport in Murrieta early Saturday morning, marking the second deadly incident at the airstrip within one week. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that a Cessna C550 business jet crashed near the airport around 4:15 a.m.
The flight, originating from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, went down in a field and ignited into flames, sparking a small brush fire. The Riverside County Fire Department reported that crews were able to extinguish the fire within an hour.
Tragically, all six people aboard the jet were pronounced dead at the scene.
This incident follows another fatal plane crash just four days earlier at the same airport, in which one man lost his life. These consecutive crashes have raised serious concerns about aviation safety at French Valley Airport.
Investigations into both incidents are being conducted by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). This story is still developing, and further details will be provided as they become available.
