Armed Robbery and High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest of Teen Suspects in Garden Grove
In the quiet city of Garden Grove, an alleged armed robbery and high-speed chase unfolded, resulting in the arrest of two teenage suspects. Martin Eusebio and Vivian Martinez, both 18 years old, were apprehended by the Garden Grove Police Department following the incident.
The authorities were alerted to the situation when they received multiple calls reporting an armed robbery near the vicinity of Brookhurst Street and Westminster Avenue at approximately 6:40 p.m. According to the victim, she and a friend were sitting in a parking lot, enjoying their meal when the suspects approached them brandishing a handgun. The victim recounted the terrifying moment when the suspects threatened to shoot her if she didn’t comply. They swiftly made off with around $200 in cash before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
Officers quickly sprung into action, attempting to intercept the suspects’ vehicle. However, the teenagers refused to halt, initiating a harrowing pursuit. Throughout the chase, the suspects displayed reckless behavior, driving at dangerously high speeds. Eventually, they lost control of the vehicle near Harbor Boulevard and Westminster Avenue, crashing into a flower shop at the intersection.
Tragically, a worker at the flower shop sustained injuries during the collision. Thankfully, the individual was promptly transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition. Meanwhile, the male suspect attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended shortly after. The female suspect was detained at the scene. In a significant breakthrough, authorities also recovered the handgun believed to have been used in the robbery.
Both teen suspects have been taken into custody and booked at Orange County Jail on multiple felony charges.
