Arrest Made in Walnut Creek Robberies: Safety and Vigilance Remain Key
The City of Walnut Creek recently announced the arrest of a 27-year-old Fairfield man in connection with two separate robberies that occurred in the area. Malcolm Hale was apprehended and faces a variety of charges related to these incidents, bringing some relief to the community.
The first robbery took place on November 3rd in the Burger King parking lot on North Broadway. The victim was sitting in their car when two masked and gloved individuals approached them. One of the suspects brandished a dark-colored handgun and forcibly took the victim’s wallet and jewelry. The suspects then fled the scene in a white vehicle. Although the victim sustained minor injuries during the ordeal, they were treated at the scene.
The second robbery occurred on November 8th at the Autopia Carwash. Walnut Creek Police Department detectives, along with the Central County SWAT Team, executed a search warrant in Fairfield on November 10th. During the search, detectives recovered an AR-15 rifle and arrested Hale in connection with both robberies.
Hale now faces charges including two counts of robbery, two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime, illegal possession of an assault weapon, and being prohibited from owning ammunition. He is currently being held at the Martinez Detention Facility on a bail amount of $60,000.
