Bank Robber Strikes Juvenile While Fleeing in San Lorenzo

In San Lorenzo, a juvenile was struck by a car driven by a bank robber fleeing from deputies, according to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. Several people dialed 911 on Monday afternoon to report a robbery at Citibank located at 429 Paseo Grande.

The thief reportedly handed a note to a bank teller, threatening to detonate an explosive in the bank if they did not receive $20,000. The robber fled the bank in a sedan at approximately 3:45 p.m.

Sheriff’s deputies in the vicinity pursued the sedan. However, at the intersection of Via Granada and Via Cordoba, the fleeing vehicle hit a juvenile. Deputies immediately terminated the chase to assist the injured victim.

The injured teenager suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Currently, two suspects linked to the robbery remain at large, as confirmed by the Sheriff’s Office. This incident underscores the potential for high-risk situations to escalate during criminal pursuits, emphasizing the need for public vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement.
