Box Truck Explosion in Boyle Heights Captured on Video

In the early hours of Thursday, the cargo area of a box truck exploded in Boyle Heights. The incident was captured on surveillance video.

The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the explosion occurred around 5 a.m. at 960 S. Grande Vista Avenue.

Despite the intensity of the explosion, no injuries were reported. However, several vehicles parked in the vicinity were damaged, and windows in nearby homes were shattered.

While the specific cause of the fire remains undetermined, investigators are considering the possibility that leakage from one of several propane tanks stored within the vehicle may have been a factor.

A video provided to KTLA vividly shows a bright flash as debris is catapulted across the street.
