Car Fire in San Leandro Sparks Small Grass Fire

A car fire in San Leandro sparked a minor grass fire on Monday afternoon. The Alameda County Fire Department confirmed that the fire has since been extinguished. Firefighters were summoned to the 10000 block of Bigge Street around 2:33 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found three cars ablaze. The fire had spread to nearby vegetation, igniting the grass. The fire was successfully quelled, but one car remains partially on the railroad tracks in the vicinity.

Railroad officials are currently on the scene dealing with the car. The fire’s cause is still under investigation by the Alameda County Fire Department.
