A car was found overturned and abandoned off the Pacific Coast Highway near Point Mugu State Park in Ventura County early Sunday morning.
The vehicle, discovered around 12:40 a.m., appeared to have flown off the highway and crashed into rocks. There were no occupants nearby when the car was located.
Fire crews and K9 units were dispatched to search for the driver and any potential passengers, but they were unable to locate anyone.
Unconfirmed reports suggested that the vehicle’s occupants might have fled southbound along the beach.
