Carjacking Leads to Crash and Injuries in Oakland

A carjacking incident in Oakland led to a crash that resulted in four people being hospitalized on Wednesday, according to the Oakland Police Department. Among those injured were two officers from the Oakland Police Department.

Undercover officers witnessed the carjacking unfold around 5 p.m. at 32nd Street and West Street in West Oakland. Following a brief pursuit, an OPD helicopter was deployed. The carjackers were part of a larger group driving in multiple vehicles. One of the suspect vehicles crashed into a marked OPD car, leading to several arrests. A firearm was also recovered at the scene.

Those injured in the incident included two officers, one victim of the carjacking, and one suspect involved in the incident.
