CHP Seeks Community Help in Hit-and-Run Crash: A Call for Justice and Accountability In a shocking incident on Monday, a major injury hit-and-run crash occurred on I-580 westbound, just east of I-680, in Pleasanton. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is now seeking the community’s assistance in solving this heinous crime. The incident took place between 3:00 a.m. and 7:47 a.m., leaving a man with severe injuries. It all began when the CHP Golden Gate Communication Center received reports of a Hispanic man lying down on the asphalt shoulder next to the concrete wall on I-580 westbound, east of I-680 at approximately 7:47 a.m. The Dublin Area Units of the CHP quickly responded and discovered the injured man on the right shoulder at 7:57 a.m. His injuries were deemed to be major. Earlier that morning, at around 2:58 a.m., there were reports of a pedestrian wearing a black sweater walking in the lanes of traffic on I-580, west of Hopyard Road, according to the CHP. Based on their investigation, it was determined that the crash was a result of a solo vehicle versus pedestrian hit-and-run. The driver responsible for the accident fled the scene in the westward direction of I-580. However, despite their efforts, the Dublin Area Units were unable to locate any pedestrians in the area. Now, the CHP is pleading with the public to come forward with any information that may help identify the vehicle that fled the scene. It is crucial that we all work together to hold the responsible party accountable for their actions. No one should be allowed to evade justice in such cases.
