A dead body was discovered in Oakland’s Eastmont neighborhood on Monday morning, prompting an investigation by the police.
Officers from the Oakland Police Department responded to a report of a deceased person in the 2700 block of 79th Avenue shortly after 8:45 a.m. Upon locating the dead body, OPD’s Homicide Section took charge of the investigation.
The cause of the individual’s death remains unknown at this time.
