Dodgers Face Four New Lawsuits Over Excessive Force by Security

The Los Angeles Dodgers are being hit with four new lawsuits alleging that their security guards used excessive force during incidents that took place in 2021 and 2023. The plaintiffs are seeking compensation for emotional distress and punitive damages.

In one of the incidents from August 17, 2021, a woman named Veronica claimed that she was tackled by Dodgers security guards as they swarmed her brother and his girlfriend during a dispute. She was left with a fractured knee due to the encounter.

In another case from April 1, 2023, Gregory Harker and Tammi Altamirano alleged that they were assaulted by security personnel while trying to return to their seats. Altamirano claims she was grabbed and thrown to the ground, causing her to lose consciousness. Harker also alleges that he was attacked when he tried to intervene.

D’Angelo Heredia and Audrey Perez described an incident on April 17, 2023, where Heredia was allegedly thrown to the ground and knocked unconscious by security guards while waiting for Perez. When Perez tried to intervene, she was reportedly blocked by security and had her phone knocked out of her hand.

In a July 25 incident, brothers Freddy and Raul Garcia Peregrino allege they were assaulted by security personnel after giving up their seats to a couple with disabilities. The brothers were allegedly restrained, assaulted, and removed from the stadium, resulting in various injuries.

These lawsuits are not the first of their kind against the Dodgers, who were sued for similar allegations in April and July of last year. The Dodgers’ management has refrained from commenting on the pending legal matters.
