A fatal collision occurred on U.S. Route 101 in San Jose on Friday evening, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
At approximately 11:34 p.m., CHP officers received reports of a vehicle, identified as a white Hyundai Genesis, stopped on the left-hand shoulder of the highway near Yerba Buena Road.
As a result of the incident, the southbound lane of U.S. 101 leading to the Yerba Buena Road off-ramp was closed. A Sig-alert was issued at 11:57 p.m., indicating significant traffic disruptions.
