Fatal Collision: Person Struck by Train in Belmont

A tragic incident occurred in Belmont late Monday night when a person was struck and killed by a northbound train. According to Caltrain, the fatal collision happened around 11 p.m. as the train was approaching the station.

Emergency crews responded to the incident promptly, arriving at the scene at approximately 11:35 p.m., where the person was subsequently pronounced dead.

At the time of the incident, 13 passengers were on board the train. Following the collision, they were safely moved to the platform area. Train service in the area was temporarily halted in the wake of the incident.

Thankfully, no other injuries were reported in connection with the tragic event. This incident underscores the critical importance of safety near railroad tracks and stations, reminding us all to exercise caution and adhere to safety guidelines.
