In Sun Valley, a 24-year-old man was fatally stabbed on Thursday night, possibly by an individual attempting to prevent an assault.
The incident occurred in the 12000 block of Saticoy Street around 11:09 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The victim, who sustained multiple stab wounds, died at the scene.
Police have detained a 26-year-old man in connection with the case. The investigation is also looking into witness claims that the older man attacked the younger man in an effort to intervene in an assault on a woman by the victim.
Detectives have confirmed that the stabbing incident was not gang-related, though the circumstances leading up to the event remain under investigation.
