High-Speed Mustang Crash on Hwy 101 in Santa Rosa Caught on Camera
A dramatic high-speed chase on Highway 101 in Sonoma County ended in a crash involving a Ford Mustang and a Land Rover SUV. The driver of the Mustang, 18-year-old Marcus Burton from Healdsburg, was arrested after refusing to yield to officers during a traffic stop in Rohnert Park. The Mustang was clocked going over 100 mph on the northbound lanes as it evaded law enforcement.
The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Mendocino Avenue and Hwy 101 in Santa Rosa. Shocking footage captured the moment the Mustang rear-ended the Land Rover SUV. Fortunately, no other drivers were injured in the collision.
Burton, the driver of the Mustang, was taken into custody and booked into Sonoma County Jail. He suffered minor injuries and received treatment. The passenger in the Mustang, a 17-year-old boy, also sustained minor injuries and was released to his parents.
Meanwhile, the occupants of the Land Rover, a family of three, were transported to a nearby hospital to seek medical attention for complaints of pain.
Authorities revealed that the Mustang, with a license plate that read “WILL RUN,” had been involved in multiple chases over the past month, always managing to elude capture until this incident.
As personal injury bloggers, we understand the dangers associated with high-speed chases and reckless driving. Incidents like these not only put the lives of the occupants of the fleeing vehicle at risk but also endanger innocent bystanders on the road. We hope that this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible and safe driving practices. Our thoughts go out to the family in the Land Rover and anyone else affected by this terrifying crash.
