Man Arrested Following High-Speed Chase in San Bernardino County

A 31-year-old man from Lucerne Valley, identified as Emmanuel Handsbur, was arrested after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit in San Bernardino County. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred in the early hours of August 8.

Authorities first spotted Handsbur driving at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour on Highway 247. He then turned onto Camp Rock Road and continued driving at high speed. Despite attempts by deputies to pull him over, Handsbur refused to yield and led them on a chase. At various points during the pursuit, he drove at triple-digit speeds and without headlights.

The chase ended when Handsbur crashed into the backyard of a home on the 9300 block of Camp Rock Road. He then fled on foot but was later found hiding in a shower inside the house.

Handsbur was charged with evading after fleeing from deputies and was booked at the High Desert Detention Center. He is currently being held on a bail of $100,000. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and authorities have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
