A hit-and-run accident in Napa resulted in multiple injuries and sent pedestrians fleeing for safety on July 8, reports the Napa Police Department.
Surveillance footage of the incident showcases a white SUV traveling east on First Street, through the intersection at Main Street. Concurrently, a black sedan drives around two cars halted at a red light on Main Street, proceeding to run the red light. The SUV then T-bones the black sedan on the driver’s side.
The collision caused both vehicles to spin towards the building where Napa Palisades Saloon is located, where they crashed into a light pole and narrowly avoided several bystanders at the corner. After the collision, the airbags on the driver’s side of the black sedan inflated.
Following the incident, the black sedan’s driver managed to regain control of the vehicle and fled the scene, while the white SUV pulled over to the roadside.
The Napa Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident or who recognizes the vehicle involved to get in touch with NPD Officer B. Browne. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety, adherence to traffic rules, and the significant impact of reckless driving on innocent bystanders.
