Orange County judge, fatal shooting, arrest

Orange County Judge Arrested After Fatal Shooting at Home

An Orange County Superior Court judge was reportedly taken into custody after his wife was fatally shot in their Anaheim Hills residence. The shooting was reported on Thursday evening in the 8500 block of East Canyon Vista Drive.

Authorities believe the shooting occurred in or around the home, as stated by Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Jon McClintock. Upon arrival, officers found one deceased victim and arrested one suspect. However, McClintock did not provide any further details about the shooter or the victim to KTLA.

While the authorities did not disclose the identities of the individuals involved, property records indicate that the home belongs to Orange County Superior Court Judge Jeff Ferguson. Additionally, both The Los Angeles Times and the Orange County Register reported that Ferguson was arrested on suspicion of shooting his wife.

McClintock did not confirm this information but remarked on the rarity of such incidents in the Anaheim Hills area, saying, “Shootings in this area are rare and the crime is very low.”

The block where the incident occurred was cordoned off throughout the night for further investigation. This case serves as a grim reminder that violent incidents can occur unexpectedly, even in areas with low crime rates, and nobody is above the law when it comes to such heinous acts.
